What is USNT?

The United States National Team is the official Quadball™ team of the United States. The team is regulated by US Quadball and is a national member of the International Quadball Association. The team has won the most IQA World Cup titles, winning the 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2023 titles. The USNT competes in the IQA World Cup every two years and has competed in one IQA Pan-American Games, where the team took gold.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The below baseline player eligibility requirements for the US National Team are subject to change dependent on the IQA.

  • Be 18 years of age or older at the time of the upcoming IQA event

    • This overwrites the IQA rule of 16 years

  • Must hold a valid passport at the time of the event

    • Should the event be held in the U.S., this requirement will be waived

At least meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be a US citizen

  • Have lived in the US for at least three years

  • Have played quadball only in the US

  • Have played officially in the US during the prior Major League Quadball (MLQ) and/or USQ season

In order to apply, you must be willing to agree to the necessary waivers and provide written commitment to various requirements:

  • USNT Practice Policy

    • In the event that I am chosen for and accept a roster spot on the USNT, I agree to make an active effort to attend as many USNT practices as my financial state and distance from said practices allow. I will also make a concerted effort to be at all USNT tournaments at least one week in advance to participate in on-site training.

All new applicants may be asked to submit unedited recordings of official USQ or MLQ games in which they have played.

In addition to meeting the aforementioned player eligibility requirements, adhering to the signed policies, and exhibiting the actions and attitude of a role model within the community, athletes are expected to complete workout requirements set by the coaching staff and attend closed training camps. More info on USNT training camps can be found here.

No athlete on the USNT standing roster is guaranteed play time or a tournament roster spot at any point during their time on the USNT standing roster and/or in the USNTDA class. While there are designated periods for mass additions and cuts, the USNT and USNTDA coaches may add or cut a player when they deem necessary.

Any athlete that meets the below requirements is eligible to try out for the USNT at a training camp and/or be scouted by the USNT. If you are unable to attend a training camp, you can express interest by email to USNT Head Coach Michael “Yada” Parada and USNT Manager Hanna Reese at michael.parada@usquadball.org and hanna.reese@usquadball.org, respectively.
