US Quadball is delighted to introduce two new additions to the board. Bernardo Berges and Harry Greenhouse have officially joined the USQ board, with their tenure commencing in July and August, respectively. Berges will be lending his expertise to the Finance and Fundraising Committee, while Greenhouse will be contributing his expertise to the Nomination and Governance committee. Both members bring a wealth of experience and innovative perspectives to the board. The board looks forward to working with them to foster a more inclusive and dynamic quadball community, enhance team experiences, and secure financial stability for the organization.
Bernardo Berges
Bernardo Berges (he/him) joined quadball in 2013 when he was looking for a new sport to try at the University of Miami. He graduated from The U with degrees in Business Technology and Political Science. Over the past 10 years, he has been involved as a player, referee, tournament director, coach, and captain. In 2016, Berges represented the US National Team at the World Cup in Frankfurt, Germany. Currently, he is a coach with the District of Columbia Quadball Club and works as a Quality Assurance Analyst in Washington DC. Outside of quadball, Berges works as a Quality Assurance Analyst in Washington DC. He also has entrepreneurial experience from his time working in the Dominican Republic.
Harry Greenhouse
Harry Greenhouse (he/him) started playing quadball in 2011 at the University of Maryland. He graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and currently works as a Physical Education Teacher. Greenhouse has been incredibly active in the quadball community after college as well. He has been a coach for several teams including Boston University’s team, as well as worked as a gameplay coordinator for USQ and now runs the Massachusetts Quadball Conference as its commissioner. Greenhouse’s focus in quadball is to have as many people join and enjoy the sport as he has and to spread the sport across the country.
Additional Information
Following its most recent update, the USQ board has undergone several important changes. We are pleased to introduce new leadership with Shirley Lu assuming the position of Board Chair, Joey Galtelli as Vice Chair, Clay Dockery as Treasurer, and Kenken Ladia as Secretary, each bringing their unique skills and dedication to the team.
Additionally, USQ bids farewell to Jeremy Schleicher and Christian Barnes, who have stepped down from the board. We appreciate the valuable expertise that they both brought to the board as long-term USQ volunteers and are thankful for their support. Barnes has transitioned into the role of USQ Events Manager.
If you're interested in joining the board, stay tuned for updates about the opening of board applications in December.
