Follow The Action At 2022 Midwest Regional Championship

USQ’s fall regional championships continue this weekend at Tuma Soccer Complex in Marion, Iowa with the 2022 Midwest Regional Championship. This regional will see seven collegiate teams compete for the title of regional champion as well as for bids for US Quadball Cup 2023. There is no club division. Information about how to stay updated on the action (including livestream) is below.

Schedule

Games start at 10 am CT on Saturday and 9 am CT on Sunday. The schedule is available on our website. Click the Scores & Standings tab, select a division, and scroll down. 

Gameplay Format

The seven teams attending this tournament will compete in a full round robin over the course of two days. At the completion of the round robin, the top two teams will vie for the Midwest Regional Champion title. Teams who finish third through seventh will compete for remaining D1 or D2 bids. Two competing teams earned bids during the Great Lakes Regional Championship (Creighton and Blue Jay). Based on how these two teams finish after the round robin has concluded, the following brackets may play out.

Yellow= Not eligible for a bid
Green= D1 bid
Blue= D2 bid

The round robin games will take place over the course of Day 1 and conclude on Day 2 with the 1pm(CT) game slot.

Bid determining games will commence at 2:30pm (CT) and the final will take place at 3:30pm (CT)

The 2022 Midwest Regional Championship is being held at Tuma Soccer Complex (3239 C Ave Ext, Marion, IA 52302).

Parking is free. Spectators should proceed to the merch tent (located next to HQ) to either purchase tickets or check-in to receive a wristband.

There is no spectator seating at the field so we recommend spectators bring their own chairs and blankets. No pets are allowed onto the fields. There is food available to purchase at the concessions pavilion.

Weather

The forecast on Saturday is cloudy with a high of 34 degrees. The forecast on Sunday is mostly sunny, with a high of 35 degrees. Scattered flurries have been moving in and out of the forecast for Saturday after 9 am CT. The event will take place rain or shine, and we encourage attendees to come prepared for the weather. Pop-up tents and canopies may be set up on the grass but may not be staked into the ground or left overnight.
